Go Greek!

Challenging the Process

Purpose: To recognize individual chapters that have sought out new opportunities and changed the status quo to improve their chapter and/or the Greek community (examples of this might be combating hazing or alcohol misuse or challenging other negative stereotypes of Greek Life).

Only one award may be presented and will not necessarily be presented every year, contingent upon the judging panel’s results.

Alpha Tau Omega

The 2008 recipient, Alpha Tau Omega, has taken a step forward this year, and redefined what being a true brother really means. They have welcomed the first Marietta College student in a wheelchair into their fraternity. By doing so, they gained much more than a member. They have learned the importance of planning events and programs which are inclusive of everyone and have taken the time to ensure that simple details, such as, making sure that formals occur on the first floor, are a priority.  These young men have broken the mold of the typical fraternity man and set the bar for being responsible and open.
