Outstanding Volunteer of the Year

Purpose:  To recognize outstanding leaders in community service and volunteerism in the Marietta College and greater Marietta community.  One recipient will be selected from the Greek Community.

The 2008 Volunteer of the Year, Gwen Chamberlain (Chi Omega),has organized extremely involved with the community service during her time at Marietta.  She has coordinated entire community service days such as Make a Difference Day and Community Service Day, and even gave up her spring break this year to continue to aid Hurricane Katrina’s aftermath. She wrote, “service is a mindset and element of learning that comes only through selfless giving of yourself to others.”
